The Session IPA: The latest trend in craft beer
Are the session IPA the last trend in the craft beer world?
That’s the question that I am doing right now while I drink the Rudie Session IPA of Ska Brewing.
In the last year, the Session IPA are becoming to be more popular within American Craft Breweries. The BJCP has a session category for each style, but we can say, in general terms, that a Session IPA is a beer with lower alcohol compared to a normal IPA. Normally, between 3 and 5% , but also, the Session IPA doesn’t lose its hoppiness and bitterness.
In my recent visits to the bottle shop I’ve seen more beers of this style in the last month than in the whole year.
Session IPA beers I like and you should try one day:
- Firestone Walker Easy Jack IPA
- Stone Go to IPA
- Founders All Day IPA.
- Ska Brewing Rudie Session IPA.
And you… What do you reckon?
Here the top 50 Session IPAs in the world. Have you tried any of them?
