During the last months, I discovered a new world for me in the craft beer: the beer traders. So much so that I did three trades in 2 months: with The Netherlands, Poland and
Finland. All of them successfully except with The Netherlands. Two bottles were broken during the delivery so I sent another package to him.
But, What do you need to do a successful trade?
Which beers are you looking for? ISO
Be clear about the beers that you are In Search Of. Make a list or say something locally. Or for example, 10 of the top in your State or Country can be possible too, using ratings like untapped, rate beer or beer advocate. Also, beers that you can’t find in your country or especial beers that you can see rarely. Season beer too.
What beers do you have for trade? FT
In my opinion, there are two kind of traders: those who want surprise and those who are looking for something specific. So be clear what your trader wants before to start the trading. Alo is possible to follow their personal styles like Pale Ale, Imperial Stouts, etc.
Packaging and Delivery
Be careful, especial wth bottles. I think that this video explain pretty well what you have to do.
For my tradings, I have been used www.parcelmonkey.com, where you can ship to the US, Canadá, Europe, etc.
How to find traders?
Forums, groups in facebook, apps. There always people that would like to trade. I would like to see Europe more involve on this. The forums to trade beer in the US are amazing.
